Hunter alternative: Re:Shark vs Hunter

Hunter finds the address and sends from the inbox you bring; the research, the writing and the domains are still yours. Re:Shark finds the right Dutch companies, writes the emails and sends them from included domains and mailboxes, in one plan.

Why teams choose Re:Shark

Hunter gives you the address and a way to send. Re:Shark gives you the campaign: Kai finds the Dutch companies that fit, researches each one and writes the personalised parts, and the mail goes out from domains and mailboxes that are included, set up and warmed for you. Kai reads the replies too.

Why teams look for a Hunter alternative

Hunter began in 2015 as a tool to find email addresses on the public web and has grown into an email outreach platform. Domain Search finds the people at a company, Email Finder finds an address from a name, Email Verifier checks a list, and Discover lets you build lists of B2B companies. You then send sequences from the inboxes you connect, such as Gmail, Outlook or any SMTP/IMAP account.

That covers the address and the send button. The rest is still yours. You pick which companies deserve a mail, research each one, and write something worth answering; Hunter’s AI Writing Assistant helps with the text, but the research behind it is up to you. And the inboxes you send from are yours to supply: you connect 1 to 20 accounts depending on the plan, and managed domains, email accounts and Inbox Protection are paid add-ons.

What Re:Shark does differently

Re:Shark does the whole job in one plan. You describe who you sell to. Kai, our AI colleague, searches Reef for Dutch companies that fit, finds the right contact and verifies the address. He researches each company and writes the personalised parts of each mail. Enrichment draws on multiple sources and shows the source for every answer, so you can check what each line is based on.

A short example. You sell a booking system to physiotherapy practices in the Randstad. Kai finds practices that match, reads what each one does and how its team is structured, finds the owner or practice manager, and writes an opening about that practice. You review the campaign and approve the launch. The mail goes out from a warmed domain on our EU servers, and when someone replies, Kai reads it and drafts the response.

You choose how much Kai does, per campaign. In Manual you build every step. In Copilot he prepares the next step and you decide. In Autopilot he works within your rules. In Manual and Copilot nothing is sent without your approval.

Deliverability comes with the plan

With Hunter, whether your mail lands in the inbox depends on the accounts you connect: how the domains are set up, whether they are warmed, how the sending is spread. That is work you do, or add-ons you buy.

In Re:Shark it is part of every plan. Plug & Play includes one domain with up to 10 mailboxes, Growth two domains with up to 20 mailboxes each, and Enterprise four domains with up to 20 mailboxes each. Re:Shark sets up DNS, DMARC, DKIM and SPF and runs warm-up and rotation automatically, on its own mail servers in the EU. Allow two to three weeks of warm-up for a new domain. You write the message, choose which parts Kai personalises, and preview the result per recipient before launch. More on how outreach works, and on deliverability (in Dutch).

What you actually pay

As of September 2026 Hunter’s pricing page shows, per account with unlimited users: Free at €0 with 50 credits a month and 1 connected email account, Starter at €49 a month (€34 billed yearly) with 3, Growth at €149 (€104) with 10, and Scale at €299 (€209) with 20. Enterprise is on request. Managed domains, email accounts and Inbox Protection are add-ons; their prices are not on the pricing page.

Say you want to send from 10 mailboxes. With Hunter that is Growth at €149 a month (€104 billed yearly), plus the 10 mailboxes and their domains, bought elsewhere or as add-ons, plus Inbox Protection if you want it. Re:Shark Plug & Play is €395 a month excl. VAT (€345 billed quarterly, €295 annually) and already includes a domain with up to 10 mailboxes, warm-up and rotation, 1 user, 2,000 credits and Kai. The difference, €246 a month (€191 comparing annual prices), pays for the mailboxes, the domain, the warm-up and Kai’s research and writing.

For a team of three, Re:Shark Growth is €695 (€645 quarterly, €595 annually) with 3 users, 7,500 credits and two domains with up to 20 mailboxes each. Hunter’s closest match is Scale at €299 (€209), which connects 20 accounts that you still supply, set up and warm yourself. Enterprise is €995 (€945, €895) with 5+ users and 30,000 credits. About 13 credits per prospect covers finding and verifying the address, checking fit and writing a personalised sequence, and a search that finds no address is refunded.

Built for the Dutch market

Hunter Web Services, Inc. is registered in Delaware, with its servers in Belgium and transfers outside the EEA and UK under Standard Contractual Clauses. Users who take data from Hunter process it as independent controllers.

Re:Shark is a Dutch company, The Ocean B.V. Data is stored and processed in the EU, and your mail goes out from our own EU mail servers. Reef is built around Dutch companies: what a business does, where it operates and how its team is structured, which is what Kai needs to write about the company rather than only to it.
