Imagine your favorite supermarket. You can't miss it. Plastic, plastic, plastic. Vegetables, fruit, bread, meat, drinks, snacks, non-food, etc. Plastic is everywhere.

Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental issues of our time. Unfortunately, there are few good solutions to separate plastic packaging or to recycle them. Most of it ends up in the ocean, causing the plastic soup. And it does not only impact sea life, it also intoxicates our own food chain. I believe that prevention is better than cure. Therefore, I'm launching VerPot: a packaging-free, online supermarket in the Netherlands!

How does it work? In the near future, people can easily order their groceries at www.verpot.nl, after which our delivery guys will deliver their groceries per bike. Instead of using plastic packaging (which are almost always immediately thrown away), we'll be using recyclable (glass) jars and containers, which we'll pick up during the next delivery. Therefore, we compare it to the milkman of the past. This way, people are able to buy just products, instead of packaging.
