In the proces of degrading, plastic travels over land and ends up in the ocean way too often. As a result, animals like sea turtles get to wear our plastic around their body, straws get stuck in their nostrils and plastic gets in their digestive system. Sometimes fish and other sea life simply mistake plastic bags for food. How could they know ... ? Oh! And maybe you already ate some of your own plastic trash, because it ended up in fish as microplastics. Kid you not.
