Serving the oil, gas and renewables industry, Port of Den Helder is a strategically located logistics service hub for the offshore industry in the southern North Sea. Operations and maintenance activities of more than hundred North Sea gas, oil and service platforms and offshore wind activities are mobilised from Den Helder.

Port of Den Helder offers a favourable location for the oil & gas industry as well as the renewable sector in a wider geographical area. Moreover, clients benefit from direct access to the open sea and ‘one stop on and offload’ port calls 24/7.

Port of Den Helder is connected to efficient transport connections including road and inland shipping. It cooperates closely with the heliport at the nearby Den Helder Airport, in addition to being less than an hour’s drive from Schiphol International Airport. There are strong links with the Den Helder Navy Station, which has further contributed to a flexible capacity.

The wider Den Helder region is home to a well-established offshore energy supply chain offering operations and maintenance services. Numerous training centres and knowledge institutes are also found here.

Port of Den Helder’s ambitions lie in the continued development as the knowledge and service hub for the offshore industry in the North Sea.

Kooyhaven The new Kooyhaven development extends capacity further inland – this will further enable companies to increase activities for the growing renewable energy and decommissioning markets.

Kooyhaven’s location is in the maritime heart of the region. It has direct links to both the North Sea Canal and the open-sea access of the Port – and so offers excellent accessibility to local and national logistics networks. Space will be available for new businesses at the Kooypunt and (waterside) Kooyhaven industrial estates from the end of 2016.
