Known for his immersive “pop-up studio” concept, Smith creates temporary yet deeply intimate spaces—designed for individuals to shed expectation and step into their most authentic, creative selves. Inspired by the ephemeral insect that lives only a day, Mayflies honors those who express themselves intensely and unapologetically—often within temporary spaces like festivals and cultural gatherings. Stripped of background and distraction, each portrait distills a pure moment of self-expression, challenging the viewer to see not just a costume, but a declaration. It is a visual archive of radical originality, and a tribute to the human instinct to be seen, if only for a moment, in full color and truth.
