Over Ties van Dijk

Ties van Dijk (1993, NL) is trained as a visual artist, educator and in cultural sciences. He is working at the intersection of research, writing, communication, education and social engagement in the cultural sector. He uses a range of workmethods and media varying from lectures, dinners, screenings, exhibitions, workshops, walks, excursions, research, publications, installations and debates. Works are often collaborative, participatory and performative, placing a strong emphasis on social, educational and research driven processes and situations instead of finalized end-products. As such, Ties’ (mostly dematerialized) practice functions as a catalyst for shared learning and reflection on visual art processes and practices.
