Over NortH2

To green the industry, we need to be able to rely on a stable and large supply of green hydrogen. This requires tackling the entire chain simultaneously. That is why NortH2, a consortium of Eneco, RWE, Equinor and Shell, with the support of Groningen Seaports, is investigating how we can realise this large-scale supply by working together in all aspects of the chain – from wind energy and electrolysis to transport and storage.

The aim is to realise a gigawatt-scale green hydrogen factory with which NortH2 can supply the industry with green hydrogen between 2030 and 2035. The electrolysis will initially take place in Eemshaven. It is possible that the hydrogen production can be further expanded in a later phase with electrolysis at sea.

NortH2 can make a significant contribution to both the objectives of the Dutch climate agreement and the even more ambitious European hydrogen objectives.
