About World Cinema Amsterdam

World Cinema Amsterdam is Rialto's film festival that takes you to Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean every year. The many beautiful films, often made by young directors, offer you an unforgettable view on life in all these parts of the world.

WCA each year offers an exhilarating competition program in which nine nominated films compete for the World Cinema Jury Award. There are also Special Screening, Open Air screenings and of course our Focus Program. Each year the festival zooms in on the cinema of a specific country or region.

Apart from all these films, there is lots more to experience during the festival: Q&A's, good food, talk shows, live performances and not to forget: parties. In 2019 the festival completed ten years. So, time for a big celebration!
