About Wattrogen
Wattrogen Labs is a High-Tech R&D agency based in The Hague, The Netherlands. Our engineering team specializes in the analysis, modeling, and advanced simulation of complex systems. We operate at the intersection of theory, simulation, and physical prototyping. We operate at the intersection of theory, simulation, and physical prototyping to tackle complex R&D challenges.
We work with top-tier engineers from various disciplines including Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical & Power, Control Systems, and Computational Sciences. We bring together cross-functional expertise to co-create and validate next-generation (energy) technologies through deep collaboration.
We coordinate and (co-lead) R&D projects, serving as a bridge between academia, research institutions, industry parties, Interest organizations, and end-users. Based on strategic partnerships with various partners we focus on solving high-impact technological bottlenecks in five strategic domains: • Mobility • Automation • Security • Environmental Sustainability • Digital Health Technologies
We actively develop proprietary technologies that push the frontier in renewable energy.
Currently we are working together with a strong consortium consisting of the Technical University Delft(NL), Bremen University(DE), Southern Denmark University(DK), Erasmus University(NL), UPC Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya(ES) and experts from Fraunhofer IWES(DE) and Royal Netherlands Netherlands Aerospace Centre(NLR)(NL) on a novel wind turbine drivetrain topology (The Variable Electromagnetic Drivetrain (VED)) and the Dynamic-TSR mechanism (for VAWTs).
This innovation enables wind turbines to operate more efficiently across a broader range of wind conditions—improving output in both low & high wind speeds, delivering a higher Annual Energy Production (AEP) and improved LCOE.
With rigorous engineering, scientific curiosity, and systems thinking, we aim to accelerate innovation, reduce risk, and create real-world impact.
