The sun has always played an important role in representing time. The position of the sun indicated approximately where we were on the day. Now, with the existence of GPS, we can indicate exactly where the sun is and thus show exactly what time it is, how long the day will last before sunset and how long it will take before the sun rises again at night. Displaying the time using the sun fits perfectly in a time where we are looking for alternatives and nature is given an important place.
