About Versvak.be

How it all began...

In 2013 Marijn van Klingeren founded Versvak. The idea? To bring social sciences to the Dutch public in an understandable way. No more boring writings or incomprehensible pieces of text. Versvak mostly focuses on salient topics in sociology, political sciences, psychology, educational sciences, and communication studies. The blogs are written by ambitious social scientists who wish to inform us about their recent (empirical) research results. In this way we aim to substantiate common discussion topics on the news.

Currently, Jeanette Renema is the Editor in Chief. She is aiming to extend Versvak's goal beyond national borders by 1) including the Belgian context and by 2) inviting Dutch and Flemish social scientists who live abroad to write about current (international) news themes from a different perspective.
