About Van Leer Group Foundation
The Van Leer Group's philanthropic activities were originally funded from the dividends of the Royal Packaging Industries Van Leer. In 1996, its board decided on an IPO for the company, the ultimate proceeds of which formed an endowment that funds the Van Leer Group's philanthropic activities today.
The endowment predominantly invests in a highly diversified portfolio of public market equity and debt through passive index funds. It also contains a substantial allocation to private equity funds and, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Crecor, a limited portfolio of direct venture capital investments in Israel.
At year-end, the endowment’s investments were valued at EUR 738 million (2019).
