About Utrecht Virology Lab

RNA viruses include many pathogens that affect both humans and animals. These viruses are significant contributors to global morbidity and mortality, as well as major drivers of economic loss.

Our research spans molecules, cells, tissues, and organisms to investigate the structure of these viruses. We aim to identify their cellular receptors, entry pathways, replication processes, assembly and release mechanisms, immune evasion strategies, and the disease mechanisms they cause.
