About Urios Utrecht Model United Nations

Urios Model United Nations is a student initiative of Urios (the association for International and European law). This years URUMUN is the second edition, in 2013 the first MUN in Utrecht was held and was a great success. This year the theme of our conference is peacekeeping. We are living in turbulent times. We are faced with a decrease of international peace and security. More than ever, the great minds of the future have to stand up, speak and listen to each other. Albert Einstein once said: ‘’peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.’’ It means that our future leaders must learn to listen to each other and work together to obtain peacekeeping. URUMUN wants to contribute to this matter and we invite you all to be a part of our future legacy. The conference consists of 3 committees. The UN refugee agency (UNHCR), Security Council and the disarmament and international security committee (DISEC).
