About TU Delft Hydro Motion Team

The TU Delft Hydro Motion Team is one of the Dream Teams at Delft University of Technology. For 19 years we have inspired the maritime industry with our flying boats powered by hydrogen and solar energy.

The team has been developing for years, exploring uncharted waters.

Each year a new team builds a new boat made in conjunction with the knowledge of industry experts and the experience of alumni. This project grants the opportunity to test components operating together to accelerate innovation in the maritime industry.

We've sailed at a top speed of 55 km/h on solar energy, with our custom-designed wings we made our boat fly, we became world champions in the Open Sea Class, and we built the first flying hydrogen boat! We will continue this motion of development to contribute to a sustainable world.

With our continuous innovation, we want to work together with the maritime sector to accelerate the transition to green energy. There is still a lot to be gained in this sector and by thinking together with the maritime world and innovating in the field of sustainability, we contribute to a better and greener future. Because only together we can make a change.
