Bert Toorman werkt al vanaf 1989 als architect in verschillende samenwerkingsverbanden. Toorman Architecten Schiedam beweegt zich in de woningbouw, utiliteitsbouw en in bouw voor zorg, sport en cultuur. Daarnaast is Toorman Architecten Schiedam bekend om de zogeheten bedrijfs make-overs: verouderde bedrijfsgebouwen die met architectonische aanpassingen weer geheel zijn toegerust voor de toekomst.
