About The Mega D Youth Foundation

Mission: is to motivate our youth and upgrade their life skills that promote positive values, healthy habits, and education. The Mega D Youth Foundation (MYF) recognizes the “something to do” need of the youth of St. Eustatius but also recognizes at the same time their need to grow up and develop their capacities in positive ways that can benefit society. The MYF also recognizes the interest and the need of the government and the general public for a coordinated effort for the development of its youth. Because of this common interest MYF wishes to do more with this “something to do” need by translating and incorporating it into a coordinated, progressive series of activities and programs that will contribute to the development of the youth of St. Eustatius.

Goals & Objectives: The programs, events and activities that we of the Mega D Youth Foundation wish to create and develop as part of youth development are programs, activities and events that need to prepare our young people to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through a structured, progressive series of activities and experiences which help them obtain social, emotional, ethical, physical, and cognitive competencies. With the execution of these programs we wish to address the broader developmental assets all children and youth need (such as caring relationships, safe places and activities, health and mental health, marketable skills, and opportunities for service and civic participation), in contrast to deficit-based approaches which focus solely on youth problems.
