About The Japan Store / Japan Cultural Centre
The Japan Store (since 1976) is located near the Dam in Amsterdam. We are specialised in Japanese items like handmade washi-paper, ukiyo-e, origami, books on Japanese culture and language, calligraphy, and more. We also sell traditional Japanese handmade ceramics and pottery made by mostly Japanese artists. The Japan Cultural Centre organises Japanese language courses and workshops related to Japanese culture like ikebana (flower arrangement) and origami (the art of paperfolding). We are open every Tuesday till Saturday, from 10.00AM to 18.00PM.
