Yet many trials remain difficult to defend when the question is not whether procedures were followed, but whether clinical responsibility was clear at the moment decisions were made.

The Clinical Monitor is a professional monitoring practice centred on clinical oversight rather than administrative verification.

The practice observes how monitoring systems, roles, and processes operate in real trial settings. Particularly where documentation is complete, but evidence of clinical control remains ambiguous.

Through field observations and lived monitoring moments, The Clinical Monitor makes visible the difference between procedural compliance and real-time clinical oversight.

This is not a job title or a framework. It is a way of practising monitoring where accountability, interpretation, and patient protection remain explicit. Even as trials become more complex and data-driven.

Clinical research is carried out by people. The work asks something of them that goes beyond process knowledge. The Clinical Monitor exists to support that.
