About TG Silundika Cultural Community Centre
The TG Silundika Cultural Community Centre (TGSCCC) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting Kalanga cultural heritage, empowering communities through education, arts, and sustainable development. Located in Bulilima District, Zimbabwe, the centre serves as a cornerstone for cultural preservation, education, and community empowerment, fostering creativity and economic growth.
The Silundika Family Foundation, also known as Stichting The Silundika Family Foundation, was established in 2015 and registered in The Netherlands to honour the legacy of Tarcisius Malan George Silundika, one of Zimbabwe’s most revered national liberation heroes. In the same year, the groundbreaking ceremony for TGSCCC was held, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for the Kalanga community. Over the past decade, the foundation has mobilised resources to support education, arts, culture, and health awareness for the local community, ensuring that Kalanga heritage remains vibrant for future generations.
Built on the Silundika family homestead with the full backing of the local district council, the centre is guided by the Silundika Family Foundation’s directors—Felix Silundika, Tina Nkobi, Mark Braithwaite, and Pauline Nomthandazo Silundika.
What We Do: Cultural Heritage & Arts – Hosting the annual TiBaKalanga Festival, the Kalanga Traditional Food Culinary Competition, and traditional music, dance, and storytelling events. Education & Literacy – Supporting library initiatives, book donation campaigns, and literacy development. Community Development – Running Women Empowerment Projects and skills development programmes. Sports & Recreation – Organising the 10K Wrap Up & Run Race to promote well-being and community spirit. As TGSCCC celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025, it remains a beacon of empowerment, unity, and progress, working to preserve heritage, inspire creativity, and build opportunities for future generations.
