I am a Visual Anthropologist & Photographer using my eye & a camera lens (still & moving) for collecting data & telling stories As the name of my website shows I’m using ‘text’ as well as ‘visuals’ a strong combination for doing -independent- research I see Anthropology as a perfect mediator between scientific knowledge & knowledge inside people in society The people I meet, research & eternalize in images have knowledge about their lives & their Society this life-experience-knowledge is interesting for Social Science that in his turn accumulates knowledge that is interesting for Society and the people who live in it in my experience the use of images is making it even easier to pull those two together finished project: ‘Türk penceresinden bakış’ (‘Turkish Windows’) what living rooms tell about migration (thesis: PDF file -in Dutch- available) CURRENT PROJECTS ‘New Nomads’: interviewing & imaging Dutch migrants around the world ‘The Curtain’: a typical Dutch Curtain is traveling with me for many years now: I put it up as a ‘studio’ everywhere I go every picture shows people as ‘models’ in there own habitat in front of this curtain information and CONTACT info@textvisuals.com
