About Studio Sieb Posthuma
Sieb Posthuma is one of the most important and versatile Dutch illustrators and designers. His editorial and commercial work ranges from literature and newspaper columns to set and costume design for opera and ballet. Posthuma has illustrated numerous books from William Shakespeare to Thomas Mann. He also gained much recognition illustrating and writing children’s literature. Some of his most popular characters are the dog Rusty (Rintje), the dapper fox terrier and Mr Finney, a character he created with H.R.H. Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands. Posthuma's set and costume designs for the Dutch National Ballet's production of Copelia and the opera production of Mr Finney proved equally succesfull. Sieb Posthuma has won several awards, like the Silver Award from the American Society of Newspaper Design in 1997, a Zilveren Penseel in 2007 and a Gouden Penseel in both 2009 and 2012. Studio Sieb Posthuma operates in the Netherlands, China, Japan, Brazil, the United States, France and Germany.
