About Studio Ed Gebski
Born in Heerlen, The Netherlands, Ed Gebski lives and works in Amsterdam. In 1993, Gebski was a recipient of the Royal Award for Modern Painting, awarded by the Queen, and in 1994 he was awarded the prestigious 1st Prize Prix de Rome.
The artist’s works are represented in prominent collections internationally, including SMAK - Museum of Contemporary Art, Ghent, Belgium; The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Museum Ludwig Forum for International Art, Aachen, Germany; AkzoNobel Art Foundation, Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and Cees and Inge de Bruin-Heijn collection, Wassenaar, The Netherlands: ABN AMRO Art Collection, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as well as in many private collections.
In 2004, a group of Gebski's paintings was included in 'Tot Zover' curated by Rudi Fuchs. The artist was selected to the ambitious exhibition De Rode Poort S.M.A.K. 1997 curated by Jan Hoet - director of the IX Documenta, Kassel. In 2002, The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, invited the artist for 'In Collectie' curated by Rudi Fuchs, featured a series of Gebski's major paintings.
