De Stichting VNS (opgericht in 2008) heeft als doelstelling: “het versterken van de (met name economische) banden tussen Nederland en Suriname en het bevorderen van een juist en evenwichtig inzicht in de culturele, maatschappelijke en staatkundige ontwikkelingen in Suriname”. Ieder jaar organiseert de stichting een educatieve themareis naar Suriname.
