The goal of Stichting Urk Promotie is to promote Urk and its entrepreneurs, and to enhance Urk hospitality. To achieve this, the focus is on four pillars; strengthening the network, collaborating, sharing knowledge and professionalizing. Stichting Urk Promotie has an initiating, facilitating and connecting role in various partnerships.

Stichting Urk Promotie is committed to strengthening the tourist offer, (area) promotion, information provision and product- and route development, such as the development of various (group) arrangements, tourist guides and promotional material. Through these and other initiatives, Stichting Urk Promotie contributes to the enhanced leisure offer in the province of Flevoland.

Tourist Info Urk, part of Stichting Urk Promotie, is located in the inspiration point at the port of Urk. Interaction, experience and inspiration are central here to introduce the visitor to the Pearl of Flevoland with the unique character of Flevoland. The dialect, traditions and habits ensure that the island feeling is still experienced. For example, follow a real Urker Ginkiestocht, visit the shelters that were used during the Second World War or play the interactive Auction Game at the (still in use) IJsselmeer fish auction.
