Met het oog op het jaar 2015, het jaar van de mijn, is de stichting tot behoud van Mijnlocomotieven opgericht, aangezien er in Limburg geen fysieke locomotief voor museale doeleinden bewaard is gebleven. De stichting maakt zich sterk, met behulp van sponsoren en schenkingen, Limburgse mijnlocomotieven te bewaren voor het nageslacht en in ere te herstellen.
