About Stichting Allardsoog Allardsoog Foundation

The purpose of the foundation (founded in 1934) is to promote and aid all efforts, large and small, that materially and idealisticly benefit human societies.

One of the founders of the foundation was Jarig van der Wielen. Historically the foundation has initiated the activities that have been incurred at Allardsoog near the town of Bakkeveen: the Volkshogeschool Allardsoog, the foundation Buurtwerk Allardsoog and the training for family caregivers. These activities are now discontinued or have disappeared through mergers.

The foundation is now seeking to financially support initiatives that meet its statutory objective. The focus is on community development, preferably in the three Northern Provinces of the Netherlands. We also maintain the library of the late Mr. H.W. van der Wielen, co-founder of the foundation Allardsoog.

The foundation is recognoized as an ANBI public benefit organization.
