About Societal Impact Design - Inholland research group / lectoraat

Our research group Societal Impact Design at Inholland University of Applied Sciences explores how co-design as an approach can help to understand and address complex societal challenges. How can it lead to positive societal impact—impact that creates social, ecological, and economic value and meaning for individuals, teams, organizations, networks, and society as a whole? To achieve impact, we work intensively, creatively, and participatively with all those involved in complex situations. These may include challenges related to dementia, COVID-19, privacy, safety, organized crime, obesity, and the circular economy. Through our co-design processes, we aim to uncover and share the diverse interests, knowledge, experiences, and influences of all participants. By doing so, we seek to develop a better collective understanding of the situation and the different perspectives at play—laying the foundation for meaningful and sustainable change. 🇳🇱 Ons lectoraat Societal Impact Design van Hogeschool Inholland onderzoekt hoe co-design als aanpak kan helpen om complexe maatschappelijke vraagstukken beter te begrijpen en aan te pakken. Hoe kan dit leiden tot positieve maatschappelijke impact—impact die sociale, ecologische en economische waarde en betekenis creëert, voor mensen, teams, organisaties, netwerken én de samenleving als geheel? Om impact te realiseren werken we intensief, creatief en participatief samen met iedereen die betrokken is bij complexe situaties. Dat kan gaan om vraagstukken rond dementie, corona, privacy, veiligheid, ondermijning, obesitas of de circulaire economie. In onze co-designprocessen willen we de uiteenlopende belangen, kennis, ervaringen en invloed van alle betrokkenen zichtbaar maken en delen. Zo werken we samen aan een beter gezamenlijk begrip van de situatie en de verschillende perspectieven—een basis voor betekenisvolle en duurzame verandering.
