SMARTHOUSE I CREATIVE IMPACT STUDIO. We help purpose driven brands and filmmakers tell their story.

Smarthouse is an award-winning creative impact studio based in Amsterdam. We started out as a production company in feature films and commercials. Working for international brands like Tesla, Twitter, Tele2, The World Health Organisation, Toyota and many others that don’t start with a T.

The pandemic gave us time to reflect and made us realise that making commercials for brands that are about more, not better, didn’t make us happy. So today, we only work with brands and filmmakers that are good for people and planet. And if we say only, we mean only. Start ups and scale ups are purpose driven from the start and heart. And we discovered that we have a lot in common with start ups, as getting a film of the ground follows the same steps as starting a start up. You develop your product/service, we develop the script. Then we produce it, identify our target audience, and launch it with an event and a campaign.

Films & Docs Film highlights include a series of 6 short films produced together with the International Film Festival of Rotterdam that all premiered at IFFR and have traveled the festival world, production services for the Netflix Original series Trailerpark Boys and the Italian mafia film Black Souls, and the first Smarthouse feature film 'La Holandesa', shot entirely in Chile, was selected for Toronto (TIFF) and IFFR and nominated Best Film and Best Actress at the Dutch Film Awards. The documentary 'Puck & Hans - Made in Holland' premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival, toured the cinema's and is Holland's most watched fashion film. Our new fashion doc about the world's first sustainable couturier Ronald van der Kemp is in the making, just as our experimental art film with highly acclaimed video artist Guido van der Werve.
