About Smart Freight Centre

Smart Freight Centre was founded in 2013 with a bold vision, a small team of dedicated people, and a mission that was ahead of its time: to make freight part of the climate solution. Fast forward to today, we’ve grown into a global non-profit organization with more than 80 employees and a thriving network of 200 members working together to decarbonize freight transportation worldwide.​

Why We Exist​

Our vision is a zero-emission global logistics sector by 2050 or earlier, aligned with a 1.5°C climate pathway. To get there, our mission is to accelerate the reduction of logistics emissions by fostering collaboration within the global logistics ecosystem.​

We believe that collective action is the only path forward. That’s why our work focuses on:​

-Enabling performance measurement of logistics GHG emissions to drive transparency and accountability​ -Facilitating solution pathways and catalyzing partnerships across the value chain​ -Educating and scaling up organizations to accelerate the uptake of decarbonization solutions​ Our programs and partnerships are designed to turn ambition into action—empowering our members to lead by example, improve emissions performance, and create lasting change in the freight sector.​
