SLOVZ are inspired by a traditional Russian boot by the name of Valenki. Russians regard the Valenki as an important part of their national cultural heritage. These boots are handcrafted from felt and have been around for over 300 years. Initially they were worn by farmers on the countryside but Siberian coachmen, know as Yamschiks, spread them throughout Russia, popularizing them amongst all walks of life from well known politicians to legendary czars.
