About ShillohCare

Who are we ShillohCare is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on creating a society where widows, orphans, and the elderly have access to basic needs through education, support and empowerment, regardless of their tribe or religious background. ShillohCare operates in Koru, located in Kisumu County, Kenya. In this region, just like in many parts of Africa, women are vulnerable whenever their husband passes away. ShillohCare helps these women reintegrate into society by educating them on three main topics: water, education and health, which aligns with their mission statement: ShillohCare is dedicated to educating and strengthening widows, orphans, and elderly folks in Koru, focusing on water, education, and health. Therefore, their vision is to create a society where widows, orphans, and the elderly have access to basic needs, regardless of their tribe. Furthermore, ShillohCare teaches the widows to have a hero's mentality instead of a victim mentality since mental well-being is essential during the reintegration process of these women.
