The Sustainable Equestrian Initiative (SEI) is the first European initiative to provide a structured and proven management approach that safeguards horse welfare while measurably reducing the environmental impact of equestrian activities. It establishes a common sustainability standard supported by a robust compliance assessment system. By promoting practical, low-cost and horse-friendly practices, SEI empowers equestrian centres and communities to minimise harmful actions, optimise resource use, and strengthen the long-term credibility and sustainability of the equestrian sector across Europe.
