Innovation, education and customer care are the key features. All our personnel is highly educated. V.o.F Schoumakers Orthopedie is participant in SEMH. A Dutch quality control system for health care professionals and Member of NVOS and ISPO Our team of 12 highly motivated craftsman is able to evaluate your needs and design your custom walking aid. They give application guidelines and training when needed. We work in multidisciplinary diabetic foot teams in UMCG Groningen, The Netherlands, Wilhelmina Hospital Assen , The Netherlands , St Lucas Hospital Winschoten, The Netherlands and St Lucas Hospital Gent, Belgium. All our products are custom made and made to the specifications ordered by doctor , client and health care insurance. Established in 1956 by the current owners father ,Schoumakers Orthopedie first started out as a shoe repair company. Due to Schoumakers sr. expansion drift Schoumakers Orthopedie started fabricating orthopedic shoes for Belgium colleges. From 1968 until 1999 , when it was decided to end production for other firms, Schoumakers Orthopedie was the biggest exporter of orthopedic shoe in the Netherlands. In 1985 Schoumakers Orthopedie started a new service point in Drachten. Since that day new service points have been opened on a regular basis throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. At this moment the customers can make an appointment at 13 different locations.
