About Save the Native Forest Foundation
Save the Native Forest is a charitable organisation that acquires plots of native forest in Eastern Ecuador with its sister organisation Fundación Conservemos Nuestros Bosques Nativos (CNBN) on the ground and gives them back to indigenous communities that call the forest their home, together with them they protect a large part of highly biodiverse rainforest.
The region is located close to the Yasuni National Park and adjacent to the Huaorani territory. The oil mining activities close to this highly biodiverse and environmentally important area are life threatening for this unique ecosystem and the culture of the local native inhabitants. It is with the help of local communities that Save the Native Forest has already been able to acquire over 4.500.000 square meters of native rainforest and guard it with them.
With the contributions of our supporters we are making a large impact in preserving this incredible ecosystem.
