About Saudi Student Club in Groningen

The Saudi Student Club in Groningen (SSCG) is officially founded in 2012 by a couple of Saudi students aiming to strengthen the bond between Saudi students studying in Groningen and informing non-Saudis about the rich culture of Saudi Arabia. There are roughly around 250 Saudi students in Groningen.

More than 30 Saudi students come to Groningen annually to study at the University of Groningen and Hanze college. SSCG serves all Saudi students throughout their stay in The Netherlands.

SSCG is a non-profit organization. SSCG facilitates students to settle in Groningen upon their arrival by guiding them throughout the transition period they go through.

SSCG keeps students connected to the Royal Saudi Embassy and the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau in Den Haag.

SSCG organizes cultural, educational, social and sports activities. These activities help to strengthen the bonds among our minority.

SSCG leads an important role in enlightening non-Saudis about the rich culture of Saudi Arabia by organizing lectures and exhibits, as well as participating in various cultural and public events.
