About Saltatie Investments B.V.

We are looking for start-ups that have the following characteristics:

1) They operate in high tech (complexity predominately across the technical axis) and in deep tech (complexity on both the technical and market acceptance axis);

2) Saltatie focuses on the seed phase. Companies Saltatie wants to invest in have a TRL of 3-6. In these phases, a proof of concept is developed, prototypes are manufactured and tested in a demonstration environment. Companies in this phase have no or very limited sales yet.

3) Ticket sizes from €500k to €2.0m. Larger is also possible but then we will invite a co-investor.

We have studied the private equity and venture capital markets in The Netherlands carefully and came to the conclusion that above mentioned start-ups have difficulty to get properly funded in The Netherlands in their early stages. We will help entrepreneurs of the start-ups we focus on with a solid business plan. And last but not least: financing must also be fair towards the entrepreneur. This will result in a deal which is also ‘reasonable and fair’ for the entrepreneur. Equally important is to avoid structures and agreements whereby the entrepreneur must forfeit part of his or her interests when encountering some minor setbacks.
