About RoboCup 2013
Het project organiseert jaarlijks meerdere toernooien in verschillende landen waar teams wereldwijd deelnemen aan diverse disciplines. Binnen de RoboCup Soccer League zijn er verschillende competities, zoals de Small Size, Middle Size en Humanoid League. De @Home challenge richt zich op de ontwikkeling van robots voor gebruik in huiselijke omgevingen of zorginstellingen, zoals ziekenhuizen of verzorgingstehuizen. De RoboCup Rescue discipline maakt gebruik van technologieën zoals 3D-camera's, laserscanners en gassensoren om robots in noodsituaties in te zetten. De RoboCupJunior league omvat onder andere dansende robots en scenario's die rampen nabootsen. Daarnaast is er de RoboCup@Home, die zich richt op autonome en interactieve assistentrobots voor dagelijks gebruik in huis of in de publieke ruimte.
