About Richard Kofi
Richard Kofi (b. 1988, Wageningen) is an artist and curator whose work centers on uncovering colonial histories and imagining alternative futures. Through drawings, collages, and video works, he develops a visual language that reveals the layered entanglements of past, present, and future. His artistic practice is deeply rooted in interdisciplinary collaboration and collective processes, using art as a tool for shared imagination.
Together with his partner, choreographer Junadry Leocaria, he has created multiple dance performances and video installations. Alongside his work on a monumental tapestry project, Kofi is currently developing The Museum of Black Futures—a speculative museum that explores the role of Black identity in the diaspora and provides space for radical artistic practices and transformative dialogue.
He is also the co-creator of Project Wiaspora, a podcast produced with Simone Zeefuik and La Fam Productions. The show weaves together art, theory, and personal storytelling to foster new forms of cultural exchange and understanding.
