About Resin Proppants International

Resin Proppants International (RPI) started in 2010 as an ‘Incubator’ of JOA Ventures. RPI is headquartered in the University City Delft, in The Netherlands. The founding principle behind our technology is combining over 25 years’ experience in engineered plastics with knowledge of the Oil & Gas drilling industry. The result is an unique production process to manufacture ultra-light recycle plastics based deformable fracturing proppants and gravel-pack offerings.

All proppants are recycle plastics based and have a low specific weight, ranging from 1.20 g/cc to 2.00 g/cc depending the application. The perfectly smooth beads are non-abrasive and have the tightest diameter distribution in the industry

Differentiating ‘Green’ We produce resin based proppants that contribute to reducing the environmental burden related to fracturing.

Production Process By applying our patented polymer-upgrade and production methods, recycle polymer form the basis for our cost effective offerings for Multi- and (partial) Mono layer proppants.

Ongoing innovation Deformable polymeric proppants provide a huge potential for a large range of drilling applications. With today’s emphasis on economics increasing challenges on proppant dimensions, temperature and compressive strength are handled by Resin Proppants International products.

Gravel Packs Accurately sized, high permeability gravel packs, with a precise size- (1.3-1.7 mm) and density- (1.8-2.2 gr/cm²) distribution are designed to fill the annular space between the screen and formation. The perfectly smooth beads are non-abrasive and have a great sphericity. In this application, the deformable nature of the recycle plastic beads, is an important contributor to maintaining high permeability gravel packs by preventing the production of fines. Both size and s.g. can be custom tailored. A tracer can be easily incorporated.
