The Law Enforcement Council (the Council) is a legal entity based on the Kingdom Act of the July 7, 2010: the Kingdom Act on the Law Enforcement Council. The Council is charged with the general inspection of the organizations of the judicial chain – with the exception of the common Court of Justice – in Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. The Council looks thereby at the effectiveness, the quality of the performance of duties and management. In addition, the Council is entrusted with the general inspection of the quality and effectiveness of judicial cooperation between the countries. The Council has a secretariat with branches in Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Bonaire (for the BES- islands).

De Raad voor de Rechtshandhaving (de Raad) is inter-landelijk orgaan van Curaçao, Sint Maarten en Nederland (voor zover het betreft de BES-eilanden). De Raad is ingesteld bij Rijkswet van 7 juli 2010: de Rijkswet Raad voor de rechtshandhaving.

De Raad is belast met de algemene inspectie van de organisaties van de justitiële keten – met uitzondering van het Gemeenschappelijk Hof van justitie – in Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba. De Raad kijkt daarbij naar de effectiviteit, de kwaliteit van de taakuitoefening en het beheer. Daarnaast is de Raad belast met de algemene inspectie van de kwaliteit en effectiviteit van de justitiële samenwerking tussen de landen.

De Raad heeft een secretariaat met vestigingen op Curaçao, Sint Maarten en Bonaire (voor de BES-eilanden).
