The Aruba Bar Association (Orde van Advocaten van Aruba) is a legal association with corporate legal personality, established in 1991. While membership is not mandatory, approximately 80% of practicing attorneys in Aruba are members. However, registration with the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba is required for all attorneys who wish to practice law in Aruba and become members of the Bar.

Mission and Objectives

The Association aims to promote the administration of justice and legal certainty in Aruba. It pursues this goal through: • Providing support and guidance to those practicing or preparing to practice law; • Publishing legal materials; • Promoting ethical standards and legal scholarship; • Representing the interests of its members before relevant institutions; • Encouraging collegial relationships among its members; • Cooperating with organizations that share similar objectives; • And, more broadly, taking all lawful measures that support the proper functioning of the legal profession and the Association itself.
