About Open Marketing Foundation

The Open Marketing Foundation provides open technology assessment, education, marketing and publishing services to the ICT and ICT management professionals. Open technologies like Linux, fill in the gap created by proprietary computing technologies. Open technologies not only innovate on a technology level, open technologies also enable a total new way of looking at the earths economy. In that perspective, communities are essential, followed by interoperability, co-creation and re-use. Open source software mostly starts as a community effort, picked up by companies to provide services and products on top of a community effort that meet enterprise standards. A recent survey of the Linux Foundation revealed that the quality thus realized is the main reason for adapting open technologies and cost now comes second. While this can have a huge and positive impact on the effectiveness of organisations, the transition on the management level is not always an easy one as paradigms are shifting in an increasing rate. While classic change management methods are suitable for situations where a fixed end state is desirable, those methods need an update for the current state of society where organizations are supposed to interact with their environment and emerging technologies in an agile and time effective way. The Open Marketing Foundation is developing new platforms like the OpenMarketingTV youtube channel to support this.
