Het sluizencomplex bij Terneuzen is dé toegangspoort naar de havens van Terneuzen en Gent en zorgt voor een scheepvaartverbinding tussen Nederland, België en Frankrijk. Het projectteam Nieuwe Sluis Terneuzen van de Vlaams-Nederlandse Scheldecommissie is druk bezig met de bouw van een nieuwe sluis in het huidige sluizencomplex. Naar verwachting vaart in 2024 het eerste schip door de Nieuwe Sluis.
