About New Industrial Order
We are a collective of artists, engineers, designers and entrepreneurs building the most sustainable fashion system that we can imagine: 3D textile shapes on demand.
For example, 3D knitwear is clothing that is produced in one piece, without cutting, without seams and almost without waste. We use 3D knit machines as robots to make personalised clothing on a large scale. The result: less consumption, less waste and less CO2 and more quality, more luxury and more "you".
N.I.O. is built on the foundation laid by The Girl and the Machine, the first 3D knitwear brand in the world, by knitwear designer Rosanne van der Meer and NITTO.Amsterdam, waste-free knitted accessories by innovator Tirza Brems, both brands were first presented at DDW 2016. After successfully completing the EU-funded Climate KIC Startup Accelerator and building a multidisciplinary team we started a slow but steady journey towards an entirely new system for on demand design and production: CREATE1.
