About MOVE//West

We’re made to move We think fitness should make you feel great in your body, energized and strong. It should give you results, fast. At our workout studio we teach group fitness classes, like Essentrics and Blackroll-training. Aimed at working your body respectfully and effectively, and backed by science.

A selection of highly effective and respectful workouts, taught by skilled teachers at unique locations in Amsterdam. That is MOVE//West.

MOVE//West started in January 2016 as a pop up studio at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, located in the former Westerpark city hall. We closed our temporary location in November 2016 to make way for a new hotel.

Being in such a unique spot at the Westerpark made us realize that an inspiring space really contributes to the experience you have in class. Therefore, we set out to continue MOVE//West classes at a selection of beautiful, pleasant spaces in Amsterdam West.

MOVE//West is a concept by Danielle de Wildt. She discovered the true meaning of fitness during an Essentrics Fitness Break with the creator of the technique: Miranda Esmonde-White. Her chronic shoulder pain dissolved after just a few days of doing Essentrics workouts. It helped her to rebalance her body and improve her posture. With the bonus of feeling fit and a more slenderized shape, she fell in love with the program and brought it to Europe. She is now the head of Essentrics Europe and runs MOVE//West.
