Bart Termeer opened a small-scale shoe plant for custom-made shoes in 1909. Craftsmanship and passion for the trade were at its core, and these ingredients were passed on to his son. Jacques Termeer opened the first Termeer shoe store in the 30s. The shoemaker branched out successfully. Second and third stores followed at a high speed. Bert and Paul Termeer opened their first boutique under brand name Sacha. This name was not randomly selected. Sacha is a derivative of the Russian name Alexander, and means "protector". The shoe brand Sacha is trendsetting, expressive and real. The combination of these elements has made Sacha into a successful brand. It will allow the company to grow into an internationally-oriented chain of stores. In the meantime, the fourth generation, Ward Termeer, has also made his appearance.
