Van een oude kerk (1877) die gesloopt zou worden, maakten we ons nieuwe huis met een B&B in de kerktoren. Precies zoals wij het op al onze (zaken)reizen in binnen- en buitenland graag wilden: van alle gemakken voorzien, met goede bedden en met eigen keuken in alle studio's. Onze centrale ligging in Jirnsum - tussen Leeuwarden, Sneek en Heerenveen - maakt onze kerk de perfecte uitvalsbasis voor Friesland. Ons doel is om van de Mauritiuskerk de duurzaamste kerk van Friesland te maken - en misschien wel van heel Europa. Een kerkgebouw is altijd een plek van ontmoetingen geweest, dus iedereen is welkom!!!

The central location of our Church B&B in the northern part of the Netherlands makes our church the perfect base to explore Friesland. Our rooms are famous for its rock-solid beds; the church studios have their own fully equipped kitchen. Founded in the 7th century, Jirnsum is a 90 minutes drive from the Dutch capital Amsterdam and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Jirnsum is part of Leeuwarden municipality and close (14km) to Leeuwarden city, Sneek (9km) and Heerenveen (19km). According to the world’s leading travel guide, Lonely Planet, Friesland belongs to the Top 10 ‘Best in Europe’ spots’. The Church owners lived and worked in the Netherlands, UK, USA, China, Russia, Finland and the Baltics. They both have a background in education, tourisme, media and start-ups. Our dream: to become the most sustainable holiday church in #Friesland - and maybe from #Europe.
