About Journey through the Body

Journey through the Body's mission is to teach children, and the people who work with them, to listen to their bodies and empower them to make choices that promote their health, well-being, and resilience by stimulating three essential building blocks for a strong foundation in life: body awareness, self-awareness, and self-worth.

Journey through the Body contributes to the education of the future with a focus on promoting life skills that increase well-being and resilience. Our aim is to contribute to the integration of these skills in the standard curriculum of primary education through learning through movement & play.

Within the company Journey through the Body we offer (online) training (open registration & InCompany), in the method 'Journey through the Body': an educational program for stimulating body awareness, self-awareness, and self-worth in children through mindfulness, movement, dance, yoga, and drawing. Children learn to listen to their bodies in a playful way and are empowered to make choices that serve their health and well-being.

We live in a world and time that is predominantly head-ruled, performance-oriented, and in which children are exposed daily to a constant flow of external stimuli and demands. It is more important than ever to teach children from an early age how to stay centered in the body and use the body as a compass in taking good care of themselves.

In order to fulfill the above mission, it is also important that professionals (in training) working with children also embody the building blocks for a strong foundation in life, including the life skills. After all, they are the example. That is why we also offer inspiring workshops for professionals and professionals in training to personally support them to take care of their own health and well-being in these challenging and performance-oriented times.
