About Institute for Justice Sector Development

Many policy makers and practitioners believe the rule of law to be the foundation upon which the modern nation state should be governed. In its absence it is thought that corruption, violence, poverty, ignorance, human misery and exploitation dominates. Therefore, it is the obligation of the international community to vigorously support reasonable efforts by post-conflict and fragile states that seek to develop their capacity to protect both universal human rights and their own unique cultural values under a system of laws. It is also the obligation of all members of the international community to support the reasonable development of international legal mechanisms that promote peace, justice, and accountability amongst nations. The Institute for Justice Sector Development is committed to promoting the rule of law in all regions across the world as the core mechanism of good governance and the fair administration of justice.
